Creative Action

The Creative Action School-Based Department creates shared arts experiences that build community, connection and capacity for change in schools. Our highly trained teaching artists deliver joyful, multi-disciplinary and multi-session arts experiences.

Creative Action’s School-Based Programs Department has paused in-person classroom visits for the 2020-2021 school year. However, we have virtual/online and socially distant arts programming, as well as virtual professional development to offer your school community!

Bullock Texas State History Museum

Experience interdisciplinary Texas–Explore history, science, language arts, ESL, the arts, and many other stories of Texas through the Bullock Museum’s school field trip program, distance learning programs, and educator professional development.

Blanton Museum of Art

Guided visits invite students to be curious, drawing connections between art, their lives, and the world around them so they can become more critically engaged citizens. Students are encouraged to use evidential reasoning to construct interpretations about objects of art and develop social and emotional skills. Lessons are designed to support TEKS and English language learners. They reinforce classroom objectives and promote arts integration across the curriculum. We can customize gallery experiences for PK-12 audiences to meet the goals of your group.

Ballet Austin

Ballet Austin is committed to offering educators resources and opportunities to provide young people with arts experiences, specifically in dance.

B*TRUE ARTS

B*Tru Arts is a multi-cultural, nonprofit, performance production company that offers training and services to the public and to local artists, with a focus on dance, acting, visual arts and film. The Academy X*TRA is an after-school performing arts program intended to enrich the curriculum of local schools (both public and private) by providing affordable, pre-professional classes in dance, acting and visual arts for students who are looking to explore and develop their creative and expressive selves.

Awesome Art!

Allison Lash’s Awesome Art! offers engaging, hands-on visual arts experiences for students of all ages (children, adults, school staff ) through one-time sessions, multi-day workshops, and community-wide events. Whether indoors, outdoors, or virtually, each activity is thoughtfully designed to foster creativity, self-expression, and connection.

Rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach, Allison provides open-ended art experiences that prioritize exploration over perfection. Students are encouraged to think and create like artists—experimenting freely, making choices, and embracing the process.

With a strong focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Awesome Art! programs cultivate collaboration, reflection, and joyful discovery. Participants build confidence, solve problems creatively, and form meaningful relationships.

Austin Opera

Austin Opera currently offers FREE programing and resources for grades Pk-12. Virtual programming is available.

Austin Chamber Music Center

At the heart of the Austin Chamber Music Center is education. ACMC offers numerous opportunities for musicians of all ages, levels, and interests, fostering a vibrant learning community that sparks creativity through collaboration.

Asian Mindful Art

Learn about Asia, get inspired, and create original artwork! Surapsari ("Sari") offers Asian-themed art activities to K-8 students. Sari grew up in Japan and studied in India. She has taught at schools, public libraries, and other educational venues for twenty years.

Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre

ARTSPLUS offers a unique experience aimed to empower students to explore realities, relationships, and ideas through creative dance and theater while incorporating additional content that relates movement to music and art concepts as well as subjects such as math, science, language, social studies, and nature.

Armstrong Community Music School

Armstrong Community Music School has been a music education hub in the Austin area since 2000 and provides music instruction and experiences to all regardless of age, skill, ethnicity, or income.
