Multi-Cultural School Assembly Program:  An important part of our arts education initiative is the in-school assembly program. While entertaining and educational, these assemblies also allow students to experience unparalleled cultural diversity. To facilitate these assemblies, One World assists in booking, scheduling and contracting numerous Austin artists (from around the world) directly into your school. Austin is fortunate to have an abundance of exceptionally talented performers from a wide diversity of cultural traditions. Artists booked by OW for assemblies include Lannaya (African Drum and Dance Ensemble), Emily Dedear (music and dance from China), A), Mohammed Firoozi (music of Iran and the Middle East), Bob Livingston (music of the American West, coupled with Indian classical music),Slobodan Vujisic (Austin Troubadours, featuring Medieval and Renaissance music and instruments), Oliver Rajamani  (Flamenco dance and music; history of the Roma Gypsies), Nada Stearns (music of Japan, Brazil, India, Africa, Mexico, Central and South America), Chamber Music in the Public Schools (CHAMPS), Anuradha Naimpally (dances of India) and Sergey Vashchenko (music of Russia). OW requests funding onlyfor the administrative work it provides to the artists and schools to allow the programs to happen such as booking, contracting and scheduling, not for the programs themselves.

Storybooks Brought to Life Field Trips to One World Theatre: The aim of this program is to foster awareness and genuine excitement about reading and live theatre by providing children an incredible experience, and to make this opportunity accessible at affordable prices. In this program, theatrical productions are based on children’s books (classics and current favorites!) intended for Pre-K through 5th-grade audiences. One World presents nationally touring children shows produced by the highest quality theatres.  Including New York based Theatreworks USA, America's largest and most prolific professional theatre company for young and family audiences.Study guides are provided to all schools in an effort to encourage children, teachers, and parents to read the book before the show and engage with the children about their observations, expectations and findings.
