The George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center's education offerings provide quality programming and classes that emphasize African American and African Diaspora contributions to the arts, history, culture, society, and thought across the globe.

Timbuktu Y.O.U: (Middle School) Digital Photography and Teen Summit:

Teen Summit Leadership Program: Teen Summit will focus on everyday issues teenagers deal with and attempt to bring them into a positive, uplifting light, while motivating the teens to engage in their communities. Teens will learn about great African American and African leaders and participate in a service-learning project.

Social Justice Project in Digital Photography: students will have the opportunity to learn how to use a digital camera, technology terms and uses in photography, composition, subject, and content. Students will learn to examine life, family, community, and environment, and to communicate what is important about themselves and their community through the art of photography.

Bringing the Carver Museum to the Classroom (K-12):

Activities and learning components inspired by and based on our permanent exhibit “The African American Presence in Nineteenth Century Texas” which includes The African Impulse in African American Culture, Slavery in Texas, African Americans in Texas Politics, Juneteenth, and Freedmen’s Communities of Texas.

Black History Month is Every Month with the Carver (K-8):

Themes and Voting rights curriculum includes: an introduction to citizenship, historical figures, movements, and amendments/laws.
